mike murphy — Head Coach

  • Mike Murphy is the lead coach at Swing Dynamics and one of the most experienced RoboGolfPro® instructors in the region. By coaching on the RoboGolfPro®, Mike has helped golfers of every skill level build more efficient, repeatable swings using the most advanced training technology in golf.

  • Mike has served as head coach for the Canfield Girls and Boys golf teams, leading them to state finalist appearances in 2008, 2009, and 2010. He also coached the Ursuline Boys and Girls golf programs, where his teams reached the state finals in 2005, 2023 and 2025. Over the years, 14 of Mike’s students have gone on to play for the Youngstown State University men’s and women’s teams and 77 of his players have earned college golf scholarships.

  • Mike’s coaching style is calm, clear, and highly personalized. He blends his deep understanding of swing mechanics with the precision of the RoboGolfPro® to help players not only feel the correct motion - but truly understand why it works. His students appreciate his ability to simplify the game, build confidence, and create real, measurable improvement.

john diana—pga

  • John Diana is a highly experienced golf professional from Youngstown, Ohio, with deep roots in the local golf community. A graduate of Howland High School, John was an All-Steel Valley golfer in high school and went on to play collegiate golf at Eastern Kentucky University, where he competed on scholarship and helped his team win an Ohio Valley Conference Championship.

  • After college, John pursued competitive golf before earning his class A-1 PGA card in 1994. Over the years he has built a reputation as both a skilled player and dedicated instructor. He has spent decades teaching golfers of all ages and abilities, helping them develop confident, efficient swings and a deeper understanding of the game.

  • John’s passion for the sport also led him to the professional tour as lead instructor and caddie for fellow Ohio native Jason Kokrak on the PGA Tour. Jason went on to win 5 times. John’s time on tour sharpened his insights into course strategy, mental preparation, and high-level competition.

  • John coached the Howland Girl’s Golf Team to a state championship in 1992 and was named Coach of the Year. Due to his many accolades, John was inducted to the Howland High School Hall of Fame in 2014.

  • Today, John brings that wealth of experience to his coaching at Swing Dynamics, where he works with students one-on-one, blending technical instruction with real-world performance insights.
